Psalms 42:11 when King David says,”Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”
I was listening to a song called, “Oh, My Soul” by Casting Crowns. At the time when this song came on the radio, I had just finished speaking with God about my fears, disappointments, distractions and so on. In the song, he sings, “There’s a place where fear will have to face the God, I know.” Within a moments time my countenance changed.
Along my journey of progressing and moving forward, subtle but mighty things began to capture my attention. Rumors of wars, family issues, health concerns, financial concerns and so forth. It was as if all of these distractions and issues of life began to rise up at the same time and choke my faith. My faith was trembling at the site of my giants and I was one of the warriors in the trenches waiting for God to slay my Goliath.
What I forgot was… that God has already given me the victory. Like the song says, “There is a place where fear (doubt, worry, depression, cancer, debt, mental torment) will have to face the God, I serve.” The bible tells us in Hebrews 12:2,
“Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed – that exhilarating finish in and with God – he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.”
God knows the snares the enemy has encamped around you. He knows your life issues and circumstances but that doesn’t give us permission to run and hide. Instead, he gives us clear instructions to keep our eyes on him and to finish our race.
Your attention cost so much and that is one of the things that the enemy is after. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. He has mastered the art of creating distractions. If he can get your eyes off of Jesus and onto carnal things then he can slowly but surely start killing and destroying your faith.
Lets be honest, sometimes it feels like God doesn’t care, he’s not hearing our prayers, he’s distant and we’re alone. We lose inspiration because we aren’t seeing the fruits of our labor. We lose faith because the results are not what we thought they would be. But it’s in those moments of testing or war that we have be reminded that God would not withhold any good thing from us and he takes no pleasure in seeing his children hurting or in lack.
So many people are fainting and giving up because they are not seeing their harvest but I believe that the harvest that God has for each and every one of you is great and plentiful. The only requirement is that you go through the process and that you contend and overcome your enemies and flesh that’s trying to detour you from your destiny. Sounds like a lot right? But it’s not when God is fighting on your behalf.
I believe that God has so much in store for you and you’re right on the edge of your breakthrough and your enemies know it. That’s why you have been battling with discouragement, depression and sleepless nights but God is rising up on your behalf and he’s saying,
“Go forth and press on! Don’t lose faith, don’t lose heart because there is a harvest that I have prepared for you on the other side of this!” – God
There is a war going on and the war is over your faith. Do you and will you believe what God has said even when you aren’t seeing change/results? Will you be steadfast and unmovable? Do you believe that his way is the absolute best way? Will you praise your way through it?
You’re so valuable in the eyesight of God. He has invested so much in you but if the enemy can get your faith to buckle under pressure than he knows that the world will never witness the great things that God has invested in you. In fact, the scripture says in Romans 8:19, that creation is waiting in eager exception for the children of God to be revealed.
Don’t allow the enemy to dismantle your armor but utilize your shield of faith when distractions are being shot in your direction.
I pray that your faith will rise and when times of testing come that it will be unwavering and unmovable!
